About Jim Trufan:

Mr. Trufan has more than twenty-five years of experience guiding retailers through the strategic planning and execution of Distribution Center / Fulfillment Center expansions and process improvements.  He audits current operations, capacities and constraints, and evaluates MHE alternatives to leverage available technology, optimizing operations to achieve unsurpassed levels of efficiency.

As Senior Project Manager for St. Onge Company, Mr. Trufan’s responsibilities include operational audits, data analysis, facility layouts and design, evaluation of material handling technology, ROI justifications, implementation plans and project execution.

Sample of clients and projects include:

Circuit City (Electronics):  Mr. Trufan led the design efforts to establish a fully automated Distribution Center for servicing both store locations and E-Commerce costumers.  Project scope included establishing RFP’s for material handling systems, procuring bids and evaluating MHE vendor proposals.

Agility Logistics (3rd Party Logistics): As account manager Mr. Trufan executed the data analysis and determination for the best application of material handling / storage technology.  Jim provided detailed budgeting and reasonable labor expectancies for the distribution network.

BAE Systems (Military Contractor):  Mr. Trufan audited BAE supply chain operations to implement appropriate inventory and WIP tracking, controls, exception processing and standardized best practices.

Staples (Office Supplies):  As Sr. Project Manager Mr. Trufan worked on the design of a tote buffer system to extend the life and service capacity of existing facilities.

Other projects / clients:  Ball Packaging Corp, Johnson & Johnson, LL Bean, RiteAid, Urban Outfitters.

Mr Trufan has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY.
He is a member of the Material Handling Institute of America, the Institute of Industrial Engineers, and the Logistics Institute.
